Sedona Camera Club

The Sedona Camera Club has been meeting, learning and enjoying photography since 1952.

As a club, our mission is to educate members of the Club, the general public, and students in Sedona, the Verde Valley, and beyond about the art of photography.

We strive to achieve our mission through:

  1. Regular Monthly Meetings with programs taught by professional photographers and workshops taught by advanced Club members.
  2. Frequent Learning Sessions designed to assist beginning, intermediate and advanced photographers in adavancing their knowledge and to improve their skills.
  3. Providing members Monthly Opportunities to submit photos for critiques, member feedback or to simply share with other club members.  Our critique program allows participating members to receive individualized critiques of their submissions to improve their photographic skills.
  4. Working cooperatively with other community organizations to provide artistic exhibitions that benefit club members and the community as a whole.
  5. Club Trips (local photoshoots or multi-day photo trips) and Special Events including workshops.

Club Year: 2024-2025

Before anything else, if you are a member, log in and vote.  We need your vote for the Board of Directors that will lead the club next year.  We also need your vote to approve the Proposed Changes to our Bylaws.

A slate of candidates has been identified to fill our Board of Directors for the 2025-26 club year.  Members (after logging in) should review the candidates and cast their votes HERE.  There is the opportunity to write-in other members (with their approval).

The Club’s Bylaws define the mission of our club and its governance.  A proposed change to our bylaws will update the Officer and Board of Director roles and responsibilities.  Learn more about the proposed changes and cast your vote for or against approval.

Save the date – May 12th or better yet, reserve your tickets HERE for our End of Year Celebration.

There is still time to participate in our April monthly submissions. which includes  critiques and the new submission categories of Member Feedback and Show Only.  Detailed information about these categories can be found on the About of Monthly Photo Opportunities page.  Members may submit images using the link on Submitting Images, Providing Feedback & Viewing Results page.  The page also features an improved link to view all of your prior submissions along with any critiques or feedback.  For members interested in becoming Peer-Reviewers, or visitors interested in learning the format of our critiques, visit the new Peer Review Training page.  Don’t wait, submit your images now.

Workflow with Camera Raw, Topaz PhotoAI and Topaz Gigapixel

1:00 PM - 3:00 PM March 29, 2025 - Christ Lutheran Church

Please join Tim See to learn how to process raw images.

Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) is a powerful tool that allows photographers to efficiently process and enhance raw image files. It provides various adjustments, enabling users to fine-tune exposure, contrast, color balance, and noise reduction. In a learning session focused on ACR and Topaz AI, participants can explore how to leverage ACR’s capabilities in tandem with Topaz AI software. Topaz AI utilizes artificial intelligence to enhance images further, which intelligently reduces noise while preserving detail, and AI Gigapixel, which enlarges images without losing quality. Together, these tools allow photographers to elevate their editing workflow and achieve stunning results.

This learning session will be geared toward beginners and intermediate members.

Please send me a couple of your Raw or Jpeg images you might like to run through these filters to see the improvements they can make on your post-processing. Looking for heavy noise, sharpness issues, or low resolution for making prints. Send them to http://we.tl/r-4HnR1tzw7M.

To register for this learning session, send your interest to attend to Sally Nelson at learning_session@sedonacamera.club.

Hope to see you there!

Leaning the difference between when you should have zigged versus zagged. The difference between good and great. Whether you’re photographing your family, your grandkids or your clients this is good practice for a beginner or a professional.

In a world of increasing specialization, there’s still room for those of us who can wear many hats.

Identify what truly inspires you visually and emotionally. Find the subjects, genres, or approaches that you’re genuinely passionate about. Your differentiator can be your passion for certain subjects.

Plan a Trip with Club Members

Spontaneous trips happen all the time.  Submit the details  of a trip or  photo shoot you would like to invite other club members to join you.  Details will be forwarded to other club members.

The reason is to promote learning and bonding with other club members. Current members will be notified by unique email blast or in our next Club Newsletter. You can limit the number of club members to go on your trip, and they must email you about their interest in going on that trip with you.

To appreciate many of the trips the club has taken, view our Trip Galleries.
