Monthly Photo Opportunities
All members are encouraged to participate in the Club's Monthly Photo Opportunities
Throught its history, the Sedona Camera Club has provided members to develop their photographic skills by sharing images with others. Consistent with the club’s mission of education, the monthly opportunities have progressed from pure competitions judged by professional photographers to critiques written by member peer reviewers. Participants who submit images seem happy with their critiques and peer reviewers have expressed satisfaction and benefit from their participation.
With the 2024-25 club year, submission of images for critiques is being limited to peer reviewers. Additional opportunities for all members to submit images for Member Feedback or to Share Only have been developed.
All submitted images will be displayed at our monthly meetings and will be visible to members. Each of the programs is summarized below.
Members can visit the Submitting Images, Providing Feedback & Viewing Results page to submit images, provide feedback on images or view critiques, feedback and shared images.
Critiques
- Only peer reviewers may submit images for critiques
- All members may become peer reviewers
- The Preparing Critiques: Peer Reviewers page describes the workflow and provides peer reviewers the links they need

- A Peer Review Training page is also available to help prospective peer reviewers come up to speed
- Peer reviewers may submit up to 2 digital and 2 print images each month
- Critiques include both a detailed textual evaluation and scoring of the images
- The text comment is based on the Arts Edge Framework and includes comments on specific aspects of the image
- The scoring of the image is based on the club’s Photo Critique Rubric
Member Feedback
- Any member may submit 2 digital images each month for member feedback consisting of a brief comment and a star rating
- Any member may provide feedback on submitted images
- Submissions may or may not receive any feedback as it is dependent on the voluntary participation of members which will likely vary from month to month
- Submissions may receive feedback from multiple members
- Options to provide feedback on images with specific subjects (Artistic, Fauna, Flora, Landscape, People) are also available
Share Only
- Any member may submit 2 images that they want to share with others without any expectation of comments or review
- For example, advanced members may want to share images to highlight a particular technique (in-camera or post-processing) that may benefit others
