Scott’s love for travel and photography collided at a young age & have taken him to the corners of the world to capture the beauty and intrigue that this world has to offer. And from a young age, in his darkroom, under the safelights, smelling chemicals and listening to music, he lost all track of time watching his images come to life.
Although he has been using Photoshop since the beginning, it was the countless hours in the darkroom that made him fall in love with photography. But he realized long ago that Photoshop was a perfect replacement for his darkroom days and says it is the most important software a photographer can have even for his newest images created with AI programs.
Scott has taught photography & Photoshop at many schools across the US since 2004 including UCLA Extension, where he won Outstanding Instructor of the year for Photography and Photoshop in 2011. Scott has been using Photoshop since version 2 in the 1990s and ran Photoshop Meetup groups for years at Apple Computer.
He has been a beta tester for most of the Photoshop plugin makers and loves using & demonstrating this incredible software and he also wrote a book on the best Photoshop plugins.
Scott’s main love is travel photography and he has traveled the globe capturing images from amazing countries for as long as he can remember… but it is the beauty of Burma, also known as Myanmar, that stands out more than anywhere else to Scotty. His coffee table book, Passage to Burma, showcases his travels since 2001 to his favorite country on earth and is available on Amazon.com.
He leads photography workshops world-wide – introducing his participants to the natural world & the man made world; from landscapes to cityscapes. Destinations range from the Southwest to the Palouse, the Oregon Coast to the coast of Acadia National Park, New York City to Paris to the white horses of the Camargue, the Dolomites to the one and only India and many more.
From Microsoft, Time, Newsweek, National Geographic, Outdoor Photographer, Conde Nast Traveler, Travel and Leisure, Wall Street Journal, CNN and ABC News to greeting cards, calendars, puzzles, book covers and bill boards, his images are used internationally.
They are in countless collections from top 5 star resorts to major hospitals & department stores and are also on permanent display in the United Nations. Scott lives with his wife Holly here in our picturesque town of Sedona, Arizona.
